Saturday 15-June - 10:30 to 12:00 midday
Car Display Meeting - Leonard Cheshire Chipstead Lakes (near Sevenoaks) Care Centre
Leonard Cheshire Centres do an amazing job caring for residents with various disabilities - please do take a few minutes to read through their website to get an idea of their history, what they do and how they look after their residents. An important part of what they do is events coordinating that John looks after, which is around organising various events and days out for the residents.
We had fantastic feedback last year from the residents, staff and us car owners following both car displays - not only were they were great opportunities for the residents to meet new faces, but also to see and hear our cars close up and to speak to us about our cars, it was really a very special and valuable experience for all.
The format will be the same as last years displays, being informal and friendly and gives you the opportunity to speak to the residents and staff, as well as the other owners about your cars. Cars will be parked around the outside of the Centre's car park so the residents can admire your cars from the central viewing area.
Regarding car welfare - please rest assured that John and the staff will ensure that wheels chairs are kept a very safe distance away from the cars to avoid them getting too close - this worked very well last year so we will be following the same practice again.
Refreshments will be available - tea, coffee and biscuits will be kindly provided by Leonard Cheshire to car owners and our companions. We just ask that you kindly do not bring along any food with you please.
If you have friends, colleagues or family members with interesting and special cars who are interested in attending, then please do forward this email to them (also copy me so I can keep looped in regarding car numbers). Wives, girlfriends, partners, children and family members are all very welcome to attend with you!
I hope that many of you will be able to join us, both those who attended last years displays, and those of you who were unable to make it along but expressed your desire to come along this year.
If you are able to attend, then please do reply to me to confirm your attendance by contacting the event organiser Simon
Directions - from the A21, take the Sevenoaks/Riverhead exit onto Westerham Road signposted towards Sevenoaks - take first left into Chipstead village along Homedean Road, then left into Chevening Road. Turn right at the Bricklayers Arms pub, and follow private road which leads to Leonard Cheshire Chipstead Lakes Centre & Chipstead Sailing Club.
