A Breif History of "The Sport" :
Sussex England, August 79
The Sport was 1st registered
Then somehow made its way into a used car showroom in Orpington kent by the summer of 88.
Also in 1988 my Brother Sean was learning to drive and looking for his 1st Car.
Sean Dad and an 11 year old me went to the showroom to look and he brought the car, When he 1st brought it, it was pretty much the same spec as it would have left the Dealers in 79.
Dimond White
Red Sport Stripes
Black Vinyl Roof
Plus it had, had a boot spoiler added.
Over the next few years Sean done various things/ mods to the car.
Changed the wheels numerous times, Steels, Rs 4 spokes, Mini lights and then eventually Revolution 4 spokes.
Lowered the car all round 2"
Rear Saftey Devices Roll cage
Fitted Recaro fishnet seats from an Rs2000.
Also it went through stages of having Cibe Super Oscar spot lights, 2 then 4 back to 2 then off completely.
Sorry about poor quality but these are photos of, rather old photos!!
Sean also added a front spoiler.
Heres a pic of it with Lee's (other brother and admin) Capri in 88/89.
After a while Sean decided he wanted to make the sport a bit quicker than fords originally intended.
A friend of his Heath Anscombe was selling a rather leary X/flow that his brother Simon Anscombe had built.
Engine Spec:
Stage 3 Head
244 kent cam 3000-8000
Fully lightend balanced bottem end
Duplex timing gear
Twin 40s
And it didnt hang about!!
Sean got the engine, and was a quick little car.
One day whilst Sean was driving home from work the Sport found its self in an argument with another car and sustained some damage, Wing Door and rear quarter.
There was also a few other things that also needed doing due to dent on the other arch and front panel plus the normal car park injurys of idiots opening doors etc.
Lee had just brought a welder, and both Lee and Sean pretty much done a full resto on my parents drive pulling the car out the garage each weekend.
I/we have got lots of photos of this all in a photo album, but between Me, Seans house and my Mum and Dads i cant find them just now, but as soon as there to hand i will post some up.
Here is one i found loose in the draw.
Once all the metal work had been done, The car headed to the spray shop
Total Vehicle Care, Erith Kent. And was prepped and painted by Rob.
Dimond white
Black Sport stripes
And New Black Vinyl Roof.
When the car came back from being painted it looked awesome Lee Sean and there friends done a great job with the panels and Rob done a great paint job.
Sean drove the car for a couple of years then got bored and wanted an Xr4i.
But i was now 16 and looking to buy my 1st car
And i wanted to buy an Escort, A Mk2 Escort
